About
Valentina M. Donini, PhD, is currently researcher in Comparative Private Law at the “Scuola Superiore dell’Economia e delle Finanze” (Rome). Since 2008, she also has a teaching assignment (Comparative Private Law) at the Law Department of the Università degli Studi di Teramo (Italy).
She is the author of a monograph on international commercial law in the Euro-Mediterranean area (2007) and of a number of publications mainly focused on contract law in the legal systems of the Islamic countries, information technology in the Arab world, and international commercial law.
Her teaching activity includes classes on “Introduction to Islamic Law”, “Uniform Law and Uniform Interpretation of Law”, “Electronic Commerce in the Mediterranean Area”.
She also has teaching assignments at the Law Department of Würzburg University (Germany) and in post-graduate programs, such as the “Master Oficial en Estudis Culturals Mediterranis”, Universitat Rovira i Virgili de Tarragona (Spain); the “International Business Law Master”, University of Rome La Sapienza; “Intellectual Property, Competition and Market” post-graduate program, Second University of Naples.
Valentina M. Donini is member of the Scientific Committee of the project Iura Informatica Index, concerning the collection of legislation, jurisprudence and legal writing relevant to Arab and Islamic countries, under the direction of the late prof. Francesco Castro, University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. She is Senior Editor of the database UNILEX - International Case Law & Bibliography on the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) and the UNIDROIT Principles of International Commercial Contracts (http://www.unilex.info).
